SENIOR PRIVACY ADVISOR

The Senior Privacy Advisor works directly with clients providing support with privacy programs and projects. The role builds strong relationships with our clients, and delivers on multiple, concurrent project and task assignments, prioritizing and attending to details. The Senior Privacy Advisor will also contribute to the operational aspects of the business, as we see this person growing into a North American leadership role. What you will be doing

  • Proactively lead client engagements as the owner of the client and ongoing relationship. 
  • Work collaboratively with various client business units at all levels on privacy matters. 
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments on products and services, analyze results, and recommend mitigation and remediation strategies that ensure compliance with laws, client internal standards, and international standards.  
  • Create data mapping records, including data flows, and other material related to privacy activities. 
  • Develop privacy framework documentation, policies, and procedures, 
  • Develop and deliver privacy training, including privacy by design and default. 
  • Provide advice on privacy risks and obligations. 
  • Support the assessment and management of personal data breaches. 
  • Build the company’s profile (and your own!) through outreach, conferences, and speaking opportunities. 
  • Work towards being our leader in North America. 

Required education and experience

  • 5+ years in privacy/data protection 
  • Real world experience in a health care setting  
  • Experience with as a Privacy Officer in a health care setting is a bonus 
  • IAPP certification – CIPP/C preferred

What we offer

Base salary range: $110,000 to $125,000 CAD annually 

Generous vacation time aligned with European standards (5 weeks paid vacation) with the week between Christmas and New Years paid time off, plus Canadian statutory holidays
